LOVE IS STRONGER. From Loveparade to Rave The Planet explores the legacy of Berlin’s Loveparade and the attempt to reimagine its cultural and political spirit for a new era. Combining rare archival footage, private recordings and previously unreleased material from Rave The Planet, the documentary looks back at the origins of Loveparade in the early 1990s, when it began as a political demonstration rooted in the values of peace, love, community, and respect, before growing into a mass event with global influence.

As the parade expanded, internal tensions, rising costs and increasing commercial pressure began to reshape its identity. The film revisits these developments, as well as the tragic events of Duisburg in 2010, which brought the history of Loveparade to a devastating end. Against this backdrop, the documentary follows the long and complex journey toward Rave The Planet, founded in 2020 and first realized in 2022.

Over several years, the film accompanies the people behind the project from the earliest ideas to the final implementation of the parade on Berlin’s streets. It captures the organizational challenges, personal decisions and internal debates involved in building a new event while carrying the weight of a powerful and complicated legacy. At the same time, it highlights how techno culture continues to connect generations and why its original ideals still resonate today.
